Stephen Bell, High School Re-Up Purple Star Designation

Bellbrook High School and Stephen Bell Elementary once again renewed their status as a Purple Star school this year, meaning the district once again holds a Purple Star designation at each of its buildings.

Bellbrook High School and Stephen Bell Elementary once again renewed their status as a Purple Star school this year, meaning the district once again holds a Purple Star designation at each of its buildings.

Ohio’s Purple Star Advisory Board established strict criteria that schools must meet to be considered for a Purple Star designation. Ohio’s military-connected youth require supports that consider their unique wellness and academic needs, especially while navigating school transitions. The Purple Star award signifies each school’s demonstrated commitment to serving these students and families.

“I am proud to announce that your school has successfully met these standards,” Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Director Stephen Dackin said in a letter. “I applaud and appreciate your unwavering commitment to serving military-connected students and families.

The designation is valid for three years.

“Being a Purple Star School is something we take pride in at each of our buildings,” Superintendent Dr. Doug Cozad said. “It’s no surprise – with the amount of work our building administration, school counselors, JROTC personnel and everyone else puts in that we once again were awarded this very important distinction.”
