The Sugarcreek Parent Teacher Organization is a volunteer organization that maintains a close working relationship between parents, teachers/staff and students to enhance the educational experience by supporting the students and teaching staff through fundraising efforts. This provides additional equipment, technology, educational resources and educational services, and special projects.
A strong PTO is evidence of community interest/support and ensures a better school environment for all students.
The PTO always is seeking more active members -- and it doesn't only have to be parents of current students. Anyone in the community who is interested is welcome to join.
"We are always looking for volunteers for activities and events," PTO president Tina Hileman said. "Our hope as a functioning PTO is to be the sta and teachers' ally when it comes to curricular and fundraising goals."
Volunteering and participating in the various fundraisers throughout the school year is a great way to help the PTO. This year, the PTO will introduce a change to the Direct Donation Campaign, called Fill the Nest. Watch for details on the PTO Facebook page. Every bit of support counts and helps the PTO purchase needed technology, educational materials, classroom supplies, field trips and more. All profits go to benefit the students of our award-winning school district.
The success of Fill the Nest can significantly reduce the number of small fundraising activities throughout the school year. Meetings this year will continue to be the second Tuesday of every month (Feb. 13, 2024; March 12, 2024; April 9, 2024 and May 14, 2024).
